Renovate for Recovery

April 21, 2014

SMPS Boston has a long history of providing charitable donations to organizations in the Greater Boston area. From volunteering to providing monetary donations, we take pride in our being able to give back on our members’ behalf.

When the Marathon Bombings happened just over a year ago today, it was hard to find someone who wasn’t directly affected by those tragic events. That such a terrible thing could have unfolded in our own backyard, at something as personal and iconic to Bostonians as the Marathon, was just unfathomable. We know that many of the direct survivors of the bombings have had their lives altered forever and many are dealing with the harsh realities of being physically impaired.

Thus, this year SMPS Boston has donated $5,000 to Renovate for Recovery. This is a volunteer initiative of BSA members and colleagues that helps to create accessible design modifications and renovations to the homes of those most affected.
