Favorite 5 (+1): February 2013

February 28, 2013

“Favorite 5” is written by Anna Luciano, Senior Marketing Coordinator at Nitsch Engineering and Director of the SMPS Boston Communications Committee. Each month, she chooses her five favorite web articles/columns on A/E/C marketing topics. She can be reached through LinkedIn or Twitter @annaluciano.

I know, I know – it’s been MONTHS since my last post! But I have some great articles to share this month, so let’s dive right in:

As a bonus, I just had to add this link, which has given me so much pleasure this month!

  • “Weekly Roundup 02.08.13,” by Kate Erdy: Kate Erdy is an A/E/C marketer out of Washington, D.C. who I “met” via Twitter (@KateErdy). A few weeks ago, she wrote a blog post that has kept me VERY entertained as I’ve been working late on a few projects lately: the playlist for the “Marketing Until Midnight” mixtape. I’m working on expanding the list – what songs do you think I should add?

Hey SMPS Boston – thanks for the shout! Happy to hear that the soundtrack could help with those late night deadlines.

    As usual, great post Anna.

I enjoyed the infographic on marketing vs BD, however, its a perfect world scenario. I tend to believe that marketing in the AEC is sales driven and marketing related tasks occur as there is down time, or if your company is lucky to follow Peter Keinle’s model.

A lot of interesting commercials in the FastCo list, and I didn’t know dogs could drive!

For blogs, one I like is HDR’s: http://blink.hdrinc.com/ great variety of writers and subject matter, off the wall to serious AEC-related posts.

A few songs for you playlist:
No New Tale to Tell, Love and Rockets
Keep Your Heart Young, Brandi Carlisle
    Patience, Damien Marley and Nas
    Mercy, Duffy
    Backslider, Wild Belle
