The Art of Vision

July 20, 2010

Last week, SMPS hosted the National Conference here in Boston. Titled Build Business: Reinvent, Retool, Rebound, the three-day conference brought together A/E/C marketers and business development professionals from across the country and pumped us full of inspiration and knowledge.

Thursday morning kicked off with a keynote speech by Erik Wahl, a man who took advantage of a challenging time in his career by re-exploring his passion for art … and creating a whole new career out of that love. His address was fast-paced, entertaining, and very inspirational, as he challenged the audience to sharpen our creative skills and rethink our purpose.

During the 1.5-hour speech, Erik amazed everyone by painting three very cool pieces of art … each taking less than 5 minutes. And if you’re wondering how good a painting can be if it takes less than 5 minutes, please watch this video (which is 3.5-minutes long). It was remarkable.

Thanks to Bethany Barker, Member of the SMPS Boston Awards Committee and Senior Marketing Coordinator at SMMA/Symmes Maini & McKee Associates, for filming this!
