What would you like to see SMPS Boston do next year?

June 24, 2010

As the 2009-2010 program year winds down*, it’s time for SMPS Boston to look forward… and begin planning for the 2010-2011 year!

What are your suggestions for SMPS Boston? Would you like more social/networking events? Longer education programs? Do you have a specific suggestion for a breakfast program? Now’s your chance to share your thoughts – just post a comment on this post, and we’ll take it into consideration!

* The program year officially ends in August, so there are still a few events coming up – such as our annual charity golf outing that kicks off  the Build Business conference!

Hold a few events, social & educational, north of Boston. It would draw individuals who are not going to attend a breakfast meeting in the city that starts at 8:00 AM.
Traffic is a big reason that companies/individuals who are offered a chance to participate, decline.

I’d like more no cost ways to interact with other members. I don’t have access to a continuing education budget at my workplace, which prohibits me from attending any of the paid events. Something like a monthly roundtable discussion that’s no cost to the members would be a nice addition.

Joe, I think that is a good idea. We have made limited attempts in the past to hold events outside of the city and have had mixed results. Perhaps it is time to try again.

Valerie, The chapter holds a free networking event, Live@FIVE:30. Look for the next one to be advertised soon. Also, we have had roundtable/brown bag sessions put on by the Professional Development committee that costs $10 and covers a range of topics.
