Out and About: minibar

June 3, 2010

As the weather turns warm in Boston our thoughts turn to alfresco dining and drinking. While Newbury Street offers a plethora of outdoor dining choices, it’s Huntington Avenue we’re headed to today.

On the corner of Huntington Avenue and Exeter Street sits a polished little bar named minibar. Part of the Copley Square Hotel, minibar has lots of semi-private spots to tuck away into and wrap up any after-work conversations. The space is clean, polished, chic, and largely white, but muted through dim lighting. Seating areas are sectioned off from one another by large pots of articulately arranged vertical sticks. The outdoor patio is lined with cone-shaped orbs of white light.

The menu offers smaller snacks like mini kobe beef burgers, parmesan and rosemary fries and arancini, and an assortment of minibar essentials (think nuts, chips, Altoids, playing cards, and the like). The cocktails are inspired, the bartenders (especially Jonathan) are friendly, and, if you’re there in the early evening, the patrons are diverse.

If you’re looking for an excuse to stop by this favored spot, you might try meeting other SMPS members during an informal TweetUp, spearheaded by the DC chapter, at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 14, just in time to kick-off Build Business.
